Rhoda Woods, APMA®

Client Service Manager

As a Relationship Manager on the Wealth Management team, Rhoda serves as the point of contact for a select group of clients.  She also assists with financial planning needs and internal process improvement activities.  Rhoda conducts investment research and supports the Investment Committee directly by placing trades in client accounts.  In addition, she provides administrative support for Retirement Planning Services as needed.  Rhoda enjoys the variety her work provides and is excited to help Lumin clients achieve their financial goals.

Some of the questions that she helps clients answer are:

  • What is the best way to cover my healthcare costs in retirement?
  • What are my options for steady income in retirement?
  • When should I file for Social Security?
  • How can I leave a legacy for my children and grandchildren?

What experiences prepared Rhoda for her role at Lumin?

Rhoda obtained her undergraduate degree from Kettering University and earned an MBA from Wayne State University. Throughout her multifaceted career, she has held multiple leadership positions in the corporate, government, nonprofit, and financial services arenas. Before coming to Lumin, Rhoda helped numerous individuals improve their financial outlook through workplace benefits, life insurance, Medicare plans, annuity products, and more.  She is an Accredited Portfolio Management AdvisorSM and Series 65 licensed.  Her plans include obtaining the CFP® Certified Financial Planner designation.  Rhoda effectively fuses her education, training, and prior experience for the benefit of our clients and our team.

What does Rhoda like to do for fun?

Rhoda enjoys being with her favorite people – husband Frank, and daughters Nia and Maleah.  While she is actively involved in her church and community, she also gets enjoyment from traveling, trying new cuisine, concerts, and having fun in the water.  If you can’t find her doing any of these things, check the nearest couch where she just might be curled up with a good book.
